Decolonial

We are committed to building decolonial, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive approaches at GLAN. At the heart of our work is a desire to promote self-determination and to challenge unfair systems of power that deepen all forms of inequality and injustice.

Collective power

We believe lasting change is built through collective action and power sharing. From legal action to grassroots organising, we work collaboratively with people impacted by human rights violations and environmental abuse around the world. Across borders, we stand with communities and as part of ever-growing movements demanding justice.

Self-reflective

We recognize the power and privilege we hold as an organisation. We’re committed to fostering a culture of honesty, reflection, and continuous learning, constantly examining how we work within the system and why to help us strengthen both our organisation and the movements we support.

Responsive

Working across interconnected global systems that are ever in flux, we aim to be adaptable, nimble and responsive to make the biggest impact we can. We are not afraid of change, by staying responsive, we maximise our ability to tackle impunity, push boundaries, and transform harmful systems of power.

Steadfast

We know the kind of change we want to see won’t happen overnight, that’s why we strongly value patience and persistence. We believe steadfastness is key to building trust and shifting power. We remain unwavering in our pursuit of justice, standing firm with those resisting oppression, together laying stable foundations for a better future.
